Trading Manager
Location: North West

Reporting to: Trading Director

The Company: A long-established and leading supplier of Grain, Grass Seed, Cereal Seed, Animal Feed and Fertiliser.

The Industry: Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Trading, Cereals, Seed, Grain, Agricultural Inputs

Purpose of Job:
To work as part of an established Trading Team to develop new business across an existing trading area. To specifically increase the amount of Cereals traded directly from farms into the North West customer base.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To establish a good working relationship with Cereal Growers (database provided) in the North West of England via on farm calls and maintained via telephone on a regular basis.

  • To bring in your own established database of Cereal Growers in the North West and continue to trade with them.

  • To meet profitability objectives on the trade you do as set by the Trading Director.

  • To manage contract purchases and sales ensuring accurate use of the internal IT System and ensuring position limits are adhered to.

  • To assist Trading Director as required with weekly matching of purchase and sales to maximise profitability through a smooth/least cost execution of the book.

  • To assist the Managing Director in looking after sales of Corn Mill products to current customers provided and new potentials.

  • To build up a good working relationship with new customers across trading area on other trading products.

  • To assist the Trading Director in increasing volumes of trading products across trading area to increase overall net profit in this division, new customer list to be provided.

  • To sell a range of Cereal/Grass Seed across existing customer base.

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience selling to Agricultural Merchants, Feed Blenders and Compounders.

  • Must have excellent people skills.

  • Determined, self-driven, reliable, enthusiastic, passionate and personable.

  • Located in the North West and willing to travel across Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Cumbria and surrounding areas.

  • Established book would be desirable.

The Package:
£35K - £45K DOE
