The Job Role details:

An exciting opportunity, due to continual growth, has arisen at my clients organisation for an ambitious individual to join as an Experienced Country Store Manager.

The Country Store Manager will lead the Store team to deliver a great shopping experience. You will build and maintain a team that delivers great results.

You will be given many opportunities to take your own initiative and responsibility, which means you will be partly able to interpret your position and its future perspective yourself.

Aim of the role:

To be the recognised Experienced Country Store Manager.

You will be responsible for the realisation of sales targets, ensuring you meet the technical/commercial requirements of the market and for my Clients organisation.

You will also actively promote my clients leadership through platform speaking at meetings and events organised throughout the Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Passionate about sales

    • Know the numbers and drive a commercial action plan

    • Maximise retail sales and achieve budgeted profit target

    • Proactive with identifying and feeding back commercial opportunities

    • Manage the Duty Manager rota to drive productivity

    • Manage sales floor space well to maximise returns

    • Monitor competitor activity

    • Support shows and events as required

    • Lead Members and shareholder events

    • Communicate financial performance to the team and check for understanding

    • Lead the Direct and Yard sales team to maximise sales

    • Form great relationships with the local community

  • Store Standards

    • Set high standards and expectations with the team, coach them on what great standards look like

    • Ensure all ready to trade checklists are completed

    • Plan all events and promotions so they are launched accurately and on time

  • People Management

    • Recruit a great team

    • Coach and develop the team with technical and behavioural skills

    • Ensure everyone has all the information they need

    • Conduct performance reviews & utilise the people development manual

    • Plan rotas and holidays, manage payroll costs within budget

    • Manage poor performance appropriately and in a timely manner

    • Ensure timekeeping and attendance is well managed

    • Ensure any legal responsibilities are met

  • Door to Floor

    • Have a plan to ensure maximum on shelf availability

    • Ensure compliance to stock control processes

    • Know the best sellers, promotional and PEE lines and maximise their performance

    • Ensure that goods are received and processed as quickly as possible, ensure it reaches the shelf quickly

    • Lead the Stock team to maximise stock file accuracy

  • Manage the Risks

    • Lead the H&S agenda ensuring we are safe and legal at all times

    • Keep all costs at the appropriate level

    • Monitor and control theft and shrinkage

    • Lead housekeeping standards, ensure a well-presented site at all times

    • Be aware of risks to company assets and act accordingly

    • Ensure compliance to GDPR regulations

Additional Information:

28 days holiday per annum.

40hrs per week.
