About my client:
My Dairy Specialist client is one of the leading providers of testing and information services across the UK cattle industry. Customers of my client include; farmers, veterinary practices, dairy processors, various industry consultants and many retailers.
This exciting Retail Account Manager job is a key position for my client because the fulfilment of retailer requirements for assurance and provenance in the supply chain is a major driver of demand for this company. Managing the Key Accounts for this client including managing key supermarket accounts, therefore experience in Supermarket account management is a must!
This job role of Retail Account Manager centres on maintaining existing and developing new relationships with GB retailers with the goal of retaining existing business and also seeking new business opportunities.
The role will be home based.
Some domestic travel and occasional overnight stays will be required.
The role involves:
Establishing and maintaining a good understanding of retailer requirements that have to be fulfilled by retailer aligned supply pools.
Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with relevant retailer contacts to ensure that there is full awareness of the range of testing and information management services available.
Essential Candidate Key Skills required:
3 Years + Experience
Experience in successful Account Management
Experience with UK Retailers - Supermarkets is a MUST!
Experience of working with Dairy Farmers
Strong motivational skills
Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
Excellent understanding of existing company systems and lab processes.
Strong understanding of the GB dairy industry and factors affecting the technical performance of dairy herds.
Excellent organisational skills with an attention to detail.
Strong negotiation skills – consultative selling.
Strong IT skills – particularly data collation and presentation.
Ability to use initiative and work as both an individual and as part of a team.
Flexible approach to work hours and tasks required.
To establish and develop effective working relationships with key contacts in the retailer community to maintain and build revenue streams through retailer driven initiatives.
To highlight to retailers the merits of the companies' services to maximise uptake – which may include the generation of technical reports and making technical presentations.
To oversee the provision of services to retailers and take responsibility for addressing any issues in service provision that may arise.
To maintain systems to track progress in group engagement with retailer pools.
To ensure all relevant parties across the business are aware of retailer requirements and how these can best be fulfilled.
The Retail Account Manager will report to the Business Development Director
c£35k - £38k Basic Salary (Depending upon experience)
Plus Company Benefits and Company Bonus to be discussed.
