Our client is an established and successful Garden Centre, who grow their own plants in their onsite nursery, as well as supplying a wide range of garden products. Due to consistent growth and expansion, they are seeking to recruit a new Garden Department Manager.

The Job Role Details:
General Management and overall responsibility for your team’s department, ensuring all of this activity generates an effective and memorable shopping experience for your customers. Your focus will always be on the customer and meeting their expectations, but you will also have responsibility for driving sales and profitability. You will demonstrate strong leadership, direction, and clear communication to the team, managing employee relation issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities:
To manage all staff within your department, delegating relevant staff and setting company targets.
To manage, plan and diarise workload efficiently, making decisive decisions when required.
To comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures.
Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports, outlining performance figures within your department.
Ensure efficient running of your department.
Organising, maintenance and carrying out preventative checks on your department.
Consistently demonstrating a high level of customer service to generate the ultimate shopping experience.
Ensuring the company is consistently ready for audits.
Keep all Risk assessments up to date.
Ensure the training file is up to date.
Carrying out any Ad-hoc duties as and when required by the Senior Management levels.
Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience of working in Garden Centres or Nurseries.
Horticultural/ Growing knowledge.
Retail experience.
Have good knowledge/ passion for Gardening.
Good level of demonstrative sales experience.
Energetic and positive attitude.
Strong customer service experience
Highly organised and diligent in their procedures.
Able to manage a team.
Carry out staff reviews and training and development plans.
Produce performance reports – daily, weekly, monthly.
Excellent communicator.
Salary package:
£ 22,000 p.a. - £ 28,000 p.a. – Experience Dependant
