The Company:

Our client is an established and successful Garden Centre, who grow their own plants in their onsite nursery, as well as supplying a wide range of garden products. Due to consistent growth and expansion, they are seeking to recruit a new Goods in Manager.

The Job Role Details:

An experienced Goods in Manager to lead and continually develop our busy warehouse team. Working alongside the other Department Managers you will be responsible for overseeing and managing our smooth and efficient processes for all incoming stock, inter branch transfers, stock returns and requirements, as well as the general upkeep and overall appearance of the yard and stock storage areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage the smooth and efficient processes for all incoming stock

  • To oversee and delegate staff within your small team department.

  • To manage, plan and diarise workload efficiently, making decisive decisions when required.

  • To manage inter branch transfers, stock returns, maintenance and upkeep of storage areas and yard.

  • Maintain accurate records for stock levels within the warehouse.

  • Maintain that all stock is transferred onto the shop floor efficiently and accurately.

  • To comply with all relevant Health and Safety procedures.

  • Ensure efficient running of your department.

  • Organising, maintenance and carrying out preventative checks on your department.

  • Ensuring the company is consistently ready for audits.

  • Keep all Risk assessments up to date.

  • Ensure the training file is up to date.

  • Carrying out any Ad-hoc duties as and when required by the Senior Management levels.

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience of working within a similar role and environment.

  • Experience of managing a small team.

  • Have experience of working with a fast-paced incoming goods role.

  • Ideally have retail experience.

  • Possess a keen eye for detail, being organised and pro-active.

  • Have excellent communication skills.

  • To be personable and positive.

  • To be good problem-solver.

  • To have good working knowledge of computerised stock management systems.

  • Ideally have a Fork-Lift Licence.

  • Good demonstrative I.T skills

 

Salary package:

£ 18,000 p.a. - £ 22,000 p.a. – Experience Dependant
