Head Quality Controller - Fruit Farm
Client:
We have partnered with a fantastic fresh produce client who specialises in soft fruit production on their farm in Herefordshire. Agricultural and Farming Jobs are supporting this farm to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Head Quality Controller (Head QC), who will join their dynamic team to be based in the packhouse.
Report:As Head QC you will report directly to Packhouse Manager.
Your duties and responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:
* Ensure smooth running of the packing line as a whole.
* Implementing all necessary procedures and understanding their relation to customer standards and Packhouse Technical Manual.
* Training new members of Packhouse including QCs.
* Be present during all seasonal audits (BRC, Tesco, ETI, Red tractor) as well as unannounced quality visits from all customers and supermarkets.
* Oversee and ensure strict hygiene standards are upheld.
* Conduct Traceability exercises.
* Responsibility for fruit quality inspections.
* Responsibility for completing all required Packhouse quality management documentation (fruit, machinery, tools, scales, hygiene).
* Act as a cover for Packhouse Manager when not present (Including days off / holiday).
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience of working in a quality control position (essential).
* Experience of working with fresh produce crops (essential).
* Experience of working with soft fruit (desirable).
* Good communication skills.
* Good spoken and written English.
* Pro-active and can-do attitude.
* Ability to manage own workload.
* Ability to manage others.
* Willingness to work flexibly and out of hours, including weekends at key times in season.
Full training will be given.
This is a full-time position.

Salary:
From £12.50 Per Hour - Depending Upon Experience.
Contracted at 39 Hours per week.
Plus Overtime.
Including overtime, you will earn around £30,000 per year in this role. (Lots available!)
