For more than 30 years this fabulous practice have been providing a comprehensive professional veterinary service in County Cork and the surrounding area.

They offer a full range of services for farm and companion animals. This includes 24 hour veterinary care for livestock and companion animals.

Working with their loyal customers and clients they have a deep understanding and experience of local conditions and animal health challenges particular to the area.

The health and happiness of the animals under my clients care is at the core of everything they do. Their team is passionate about providing best care to small and large animals alike.

They will work together with their clients to achieve optimal health, welfare and quality of life of their clients animals, be that increased health and productivity in the case of large animals, or a happy healthy pet.

Their purpose built premises is a hive of activity, with the large, small and paraprofessional parts of the practice functioning harmoniously under one roof.

They are privileged to have achieved full accreditation as a small animal hospital by the Veterinary Council of Ireland, which means that they have met the high standards of facilities and provision of care required.

My clients surgical suite is equipped with state of the art adjustable lighting, operating table, and a new patient heating system which is used to ensure that your pet maintains a safe core temperature during their operation. They have modern anaesthetic and monitoring machines which are carefully operated by their experienced vets and nurses, using modern and safe drugs to tailor anaesthesia for each patient. This technology ensures that their clients pet is kept as safe as possible during their procedure.

Their imaging suite contains a digital x-ray machine which ensures that the image produced is of the highest quality and resolution to aid interpretation by their veterinary team.

Their laboratory facility is equipped with biochemistry and haematology machines which allow them to run blood tests in-house with a moments notice. This ensures that their clients animal gets the results they need quickly, without having to wait for the samples to be sent away to an external lab. It also houses a modern microscope and other diagnostic aids on which their vets can evaluate samples.

The pharmacy is kept well stocked with a wide variety of large and small animal medicines, which means that when they need something quickly, its always close to hand.

The Job Role details:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at my clients fabulous veterinary practice for a full time mixed animal veterinary surgeon.

60% large animal and 40% small animal - no equine.

Aim of the role:

My client is looking for an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful and vet who is willing to get stuck in.

Key Responsibilities:

To be a full time mixed animal veterinary surgeon.

Duties will include consulting, surgical procedures, minor procedures, client liaison, working up cases, caring for hospitalised animals, treatment plans and visits.

My clients believe in providing for their clients as well as they can so they have an on call rota. 1 in 5 on call - with one of the partners always on call.

Four or Five day week.

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

MUST be a qualified RCVS registered Vet.

MUST be an enthusiastic, confident, team player, cheerful and vet who is willing to get stuck in.

IDEALLY looking for at least 12 months of UK experience or more, however a confident new graduate would be considered.

IDEALLY looking for an individual with special interests, which will be welcomed and supported.

IDEALLY would live within 45mins of the practice.

5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays

40hrs per week.

Salary package:

£33,000 - £70,000 depending upon experience
