Sales Developer - Fertilisers, Ornamental Horticulture - UK and Europe
I am currently working exclusively with a UK fertiliser manufacturer, growing by responding to the needs of the industry and their customers. They manufacture fertilisers and other related horti products and sell these into the amenity turf market including; golf courses, football pitches, bowling greens, lawn care etc as well as to the ornamental horticulture and retail market. This company has achieved significant growth, both across the UK market and overseas, selling products across the world.
The Job Role;
This exciting role is to seek, nurture and develop new sales of specialist fertilisers into the ornamental horticultural market and to then manage and develop those customer accounts across the UK and within Europe.
Desired Candidate Skills & Experience;
Ideally, you will be educated to degree level ideally within a science-based subject, the candidate will have a strong understanding of soil related chemistry/biology, excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with good IT skills. This will include the ability to engage with social media and up to date modern technology to actively and positively promote the company and the products being sold.
The sales developer will demonstrate a keen desire to be successful within the sales role and in providing valued and honest technical advice to all clients. A key skill will include an ability to win attention from prospective customers, to be able to present a professional and trustworthy persona, and to understand how to solve prospective customers issues and get them on board and actively purchasing.
Experience in a sales environment and experience in the ornamental horticultural market would both be an advantage, but neither are essential. More important is that the sales developer has the right attitude and ethos to both be respected by the customer for honest integrity and technical expertise as well as fit into a tight knit high performing sales team.
* To develop and manage key ornamental horticultural sales accounts.
* To actively seek and secure potential new ornamental horticultural sales accounts.
* To convert prospects into new live customers.
* It is expected that considerable time will be spent meeting customers as well as attending customer sites, shows and seminars.
* The sales developer will report to the Sales and Marketing Director

A team player with excellent time management and self-motivation.
Must be happy to travel across the UK and Europe to seek new customers.
Must be an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills in both written and verbal formats.
You will have a commercial desire that aligns with the companies aims to quickly increase profitable sales, through the provision of high-quality products and superior customer service.
A current driving licence is essential.
