The Company:

Our client has been established for several decades and is extremely well-established in the world of horticulture. Dealing with both home-grown and carefully selected plants, within their nursery. Due to consistent growth and expansion, they are seeking to recruit a new Senior Nursery Assistant.

The Job Role Details:

To oversee and assist in ensuring the safe, compliant, efficient, and effective operation of the Nurseries retail and plant area. Responsible for assisting the nursery and warehouse manager in organising and accepting plant deliveries, re stock retail space when necessary and plant area maintenance. Furthermore, assisting in the growing areas of the attached greenhouses.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring the safe, compliant, efficient, and effective operation of the Nurseries retail and plant area.

  • Assist Nurseries and Warehouse Managers in organizing and accepting plant deliveries, re-stock retail space when necessary and plant area maintenance.

  • Assist in the growing areas of greenhouses.

  • Working toward product/ planting/ warehouse schedules.

  • Define with Supervisor and execute when directed, planting and growing projects.

  • Ensure Health & Safety policies are complied with in the greenhouse, warehouse, and retail spaces.

  • All risks and hazards are communicated to the Nurseries or Operations Manager for agreed mitigation.

 

Ideal Person Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with growing on a professional scale.

  • Track record in Horticulture/ relevant Training or Qualifications.

  • Self-starter and the ability to work on own initiative.

  • Maintain positive team culture.

  • Openness, passion, and commitment.

  • Develop a good working relationship with colleagues and customers.

  • Attend and input into meetings as required.

  • Competent computer skills – Microsoft packages – Word, Excel, Outlook.
