The role:

Our client, a leading supplier of granular fertilisers in the UK, is looking for a Technical Manager to join their team. With a wide range of high-quality products and a focus on customer specific solutions, they are dedicated to promoting soil health and providing expert agricultural fertiliser services.

As a Technical Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving the business forward by developing innovative and market-leading products and technical concepts. Collaborating closely with the Commercial Team, you will support the promotion and marketing of crop nutrition and sustainable nutrient use efficiency across the customer base. Your technical experience and expertise will be instrumental in providing guidance and support in all areas of the fertiliser business.

Responsibilities:

Develop a strategy to introduce new products and concepts that enhance the technical offering of the company.
Lead and support the commercial team in introducing and marketing innovative ideas to customers.
Formulate an overall strategy to promote sustainable nutrient use efficiency to merchants and farmers.
Contributing to various marketing initiatives, including customer contact, farmer meetings, shows and exhibitions, webinars, content creation for farming press and social media, and advertising.
Advise on crop nutrition, including strategy and individual customer recommendations for merchants, agents, and the commercial team.
Participate in commercial decisions, such as raw material advice, product development, supplier contact, and awareness of market trends.
Monitor product quality, specifically focusing on analysis and nutritional efficiency.
Stay updated on new technical developments in fertilisers and agronomy within the industry and provide relevant advice to the company.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of legislation and regulations concerning fertilisers and nutrition products and applications.
Assist with training initiatives, internally and externally, to enhance the knowledge and nutritional expertise of the sales force.
Fulfil any other duties as required by the company to contribute to the smooth running of the business.
Ensure full compliance with the company's Health and Safety Management System and fulfil obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Requirements:

Applicants for this role should have a FACTS qualification, and relevant previous experience in Agronomy, with strong knowledge and experience around the Fertiliser market.

As well as possessing technical knowledge, there should be a strong commercial bias.

Salary Package;

£50K - £70K Depending Upon Experience
