£28,000 - £32,000 depending upon relevant experience

Soft Fruit Growing Assistant - The Job Role Details
You will be responsible for supporting soft fruit crop production across the farming operation. You will work closely with the Growing Manager to ensure crops are produced to a high quality standard and production targets are achieved.
The role requires flexibility, strong teamwork, and willingness to support wider farm operations during busy periods.
Key Responsibilities
Support implementation of modern growing systems
Carry out crop husbandry tasks including pruning, training, and crop maintenance
Monitor and support irrigation systems to ensure accurate and timely water delivery
Assist with spraying duties where required
Monitor and support pest and disease control programmes
Support harvesting preparation and crop quality monitoring
Maintain accurate records of crop activities where required
Support wider soft fruit and farm production activities when required
Maintain high standards of hygiene, crop care, and site presentation
Follow all farm health and safety procedures
Maintain strong environmental and biosecurity standards
Ideal Candidate Skills & Qualifications. You will have / be:
Experience in soft fruit growing such as strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries
Experience working with crop irrigation systems
Good practical skills and attention to detail
Positive attitude and proactive work ethic
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Basic English communication skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Right to work in the UK
Desirable:
Sprayer certificates (PA1 / PA2 or equivalent)
Protected cropping or substrate growing experience
Experience with fertigation systems
Experience working in commercial horticulture or fresh produce production
Working Hours
Full-time
Typically 40 - 48 hours per week
Overtime available during peak seasonal periods
Weekend working required during peak periods
