Moderator and Examiner - Land-based Engineering and Crop Production

Location of the Job:

UK Wide - Centre-based delivery (not remote)

You will be allocated one or more local centres depending on your location

Salary & Benefits Package:

£220 - £250 day rate (for work carried out)

Travel and accommodation expenses reimbursed in addition to the day rate

Flexible, occasional work (from two days upwards depending on availability)

Full training and ongoing support provided

Moderator and Examiner - The Job Role Details

Moderators and Examiners play a key role in supporting the quality and integrity of Technical and T Level Qualifications. Using your teaching or educational background alongside relevant industry experience, you will help ensure assessments are fair, consistent, and industry relevant across approved delivery centres.

The role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with centres and qualification teams.

Roles Available

Land-based Engineering:

Land Based Engineering - Technicals Moderator (Level 2 & 3)

T Levels Moderator - Land Based Engineering

ALMP / Land-based Engineering - T Level Marking Examiner (ESP / Paper 2)

Land-Based Services - T Level Chief Examiner

Crop Production:

Crop Production - TQA

T Levels Moderator - Crop Production

Key Responsibilities

Support quality assurance of assessment delivery across allocated centres

Moderate assessment decisions to ensure fairness and consistency

Review learner evidence against qualification standards

Provide clear, constructive feedback to centres

Support standardisation and continuous improvement activities

Maintain accurate and timely reporting documentation

Attend training, standardisation events, and update sessions as required

Maintain confidentiality and integrity of assessment materials

Follow all quality assurance and compliance procedures

Ideal Candidate Skills & Qualifications. You will have / be:

Background in teaching, training, or education

Relevant hands-on industry experience in land-based engineering or crop production

Strong communication and organisational skills

High attention to detail and ability to apply standards consistently

Ability to work independently and manage workload flexibly

Comfortable working with digital systems and reporting tools

Desirable:

Internal quality assurance or moderation experience

Qualification delivery or assessment experience in land-based sectors

Understanding of Technical Qualifications or T Level delivery

Working Commitment

Occasional work throughout the year

Assignments from two days upwards depending on availability and demand
