Role

We're looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Paralegal with a passion for all things rural, from farm leases to estate management. Skilled at turning complex agricultural and property law into practical solutions that help farmers, landowners, and rural businesses thrive. Known for a personable approach, clear communication, and the ability to juggle multiple matters while keeping deadlines on track. Loves rolling up sleeves to support solicitors, manage files, and ensure clients feel informed, confident, and well looked after. Eager to grow expertise in the agricultural sector and make a tangible impact on the clients and communities they serve.

Location: Cheltenham

Salary: £25,000 - £27,500 dep on exp

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake defined elements of fee-earning work under appropriate supervision, including file creation, preparation of client care correspondence, drafting of legal documentation, and attendance at routine client meetings. Support marketing initiatives and assist in managing routine client enquiries.

  • Respond to routine client communications wherever possible, ensuring queries are addressed promptly and professionally.

  • Manage the collation of matter commencement and completion data, and prepare all necessary client care and compliance documentation.

  • Deputise for the supervising fee-earner during their absence, escalating urgent matters to another fee-earner as required.

  • Coordinate the key dates reminder system in accordance with the Office Manual, ensuring deadlines and critical milestones are monitored and adhered to.

About You

  • You have a law degree or some hands-on legal experience in a law firm, ideally with exposure to agriculture or rural property-but don't worry, full on-the-job training will get you fully farm-ready.

  • You're personable, approachable, and confident, able to chat with clients about farm leases, estates, or rural businesses while keeping a professional edge.

  • Tact and resilience are your secret weapons-you handle tricky situations with calm, good humour, and a problem-solving mindset.

  • Communication comes naturally to you, both in writing and in conversation, so you can translate complex legal matters into clear, practical advice for clients.

  • Organised and efficient, you've got a knack for managing diaries, deadlines, and digital systems without breaking a sweat.

  • Curious and enthusiastic, you're keen to learn new systems, embrace new processes, and help improve the way the team works-always ready to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.
